Advice on Practice
Correct movements are a matter of habit. It is therefore important to set about the task in the right way.
Efficiency of movement is largely a matter of the elimination of useless movements, and this is were a teacher can save you both time and energy.
Regular periods of practice are essential. The beginner who is prepared to practice slowly and regularly, as often as possible, will make tremendous progress. The importance of practicing slowly cannot be over-emphasized. This will build strength and endurance in your fingers.
Do not be discouraged if you find progress slow. Periods of apparent stagnation occur in most things we endevour to learn, and there is no way to avoid them. Continue practicing slowly and as often as possible. We go on gaining efficiency without realizing it, and before we know it we find we are in form after all and playing better than ever!
Again, the key to success is to practice SLOWLY and OFTEN!

As we are in the middle of competition season please be aware that classes might be cancelled so the Band can focus on our upcoming competition.
Please download the exercises below and be prepared to go over them at practice.
We have re-structured the use of the CoP after you have learned Highland Laddie. We will be inserting LNPB repertoire in the hopes that you will be able to learn band music and sit in on practices. We feel that this will make your transition into the band a bit easier. Keep up the good work!!
